With an elevation of 3,640 feet, Black Rock Mountain is Georgia's highest state park. We took a hike on a couple trails leading to small water falls, but had some gorgeous foliage along the way. Mason was fascinated with the tree that had a perfect whole in it's center.

This persisten trillium was a special treat to see. It is found only in the Appalachian regions of northern Georgia and South Carolina. I was especially excited to find it. |
Black Rock Lake also had a walking trail with some (other) Canadian visitors (geese).
No trilliums here. Beautiful flower.... Soon we will have a few flowers out in our garden though...... The foliage and flowers look like we only see in books here at this time of the year.
